Application is Now Open | 2025 SME Exemption Recommendation of Outstanding In-house Graduates to Postgraduate Programmes
Application for 2025 SME Exemption Recommendation of Outstanding In-house Graduates to Postgraduate Programmes is now open. The following guideline is made with reference to The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen Guidelines on Exemption Recommendation and Admission of Outstanding In-house Graduates to Postgraduates Programmes. Eligible in-house graduates may apply for exemption recommendation to the School of Management and Economics.
1.General Provisions
i.“Exemption” means that the students on the Exemption Recommendation List (ERL) bypass the preliminary exams stipulated by the postgraduate programme and enter the second phase of its screening process directly.
ii.The School’s Exemption Recommendation Selection Committee (ERSC) is the responsible authority for the evaluation and selection process, which must be fair, open, transparent, and equitable.
iii.Students selected into the ERL have, under equal conditions, priority in admission; however, the ERL status is by no means a guarantee for the student to be eventually accepted by a postgraduate programme.
2.Eligibility
i.Senior students who will graduate in the 2024-2025 academic year.
ii.Students of integrity, good conduct and responsibility, with no records of law-breaking or disciplinary actions.
iii.For taught postgraduate programmes, applicants should rank top 30% in the student’s own major during the first three years of undergraduate studies, with a CGPA of 3.0 or above.
iv.For research postgraduate programmes, applicants should rank top 20% in the student’s own major during the first three years of undergraduate studies, with a CGPA of 3.5 or above. Relevant research experience is also a must for applying for accounting-related programmes.
v.Students with special academic expertise or extraordinary potential to succeed in future graduate studies can be waived from the above academic requirements only if a joint recommendation from at least three CUHK-Shenzhen faculty members in the student’s major is received.
