Professor Liu Hongqi Wins the Behavioral Finance Best Paper Award
Days ago, Professor Liu Hongqi from the School of Management and Economics (SME), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) won the Behavioral Finance Best Paper Award at the 2023 China Financial Research Conference for her research outcome titled Investor Memory and Biased Beliefs: Evidence from the Field.
The Investor Memory and Biased Beliefs: Evidence from the Field, co-authored by Jiang Zhengyang, Liu Hongqi, Peng Cameron, and Yan Hongjun, was selected for the Behavioral Finance Best Paper Award.

Prof. Liu received her Ph.D. from Baruch College, City University of New York and she joined the SME, The CUHK-Shenzhen in 2016. Her research interest is in behavioral finance, with a particular focus on retail investor behavior.
Through in-depth research on retail investor behavior, Professor Liu Hongqi reveals their psychological and behavioral characteristics in investment decision-making and the impacts of these characteristics on the market. Her research is of great significance in understanding market volatility, investors’ sentiment, and market efficiency. It provides in-depth insights for investment strategy makers and risk managers.
