Undergraduate Students of CUHK-Shenzhen SME Invited to Oxford University for Exchanges
Since the admission results for the Yale Visiting International Student Program (Y-VISP) have been announced recently, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) received another good news from the selection for the Visiting Student Programme (VSP) of the University of Oxford.
Three undergraduate students of 2019 intake from the School of Management and Economics (SME) received invitations and will head to the University of Oxford to study in the fall semester of this year. They are selected by the University of Oxford for their passions and interests in related subjects, excellent capabilities of learning and research, excellent comprehensive qualities, and language skills. During the exchange period, they will enjoy the same rights as the undergraduates of the University of Oxford. After completing the programme, they will become lifetime members of the colleges and enjoy the status as alumni of the University of Oxford.
What is the selection mode for the Visiting Student Programme of Oxford?
The Visiting Student Programme of Oxford (VSP) is initiated and organized by the Oxford Prospects and Global Development Institute (OPGDI). The colleges of the University of Oxford are responsible for the selections and admissions. Each year, no more than 30 undergraduates are admitted from partner universities of the Chinese mainland.
What academic and language requirements do applicants need to meet?
The selection criteria for this programme are extremely high. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.7 or higher (full score of 4.0), an IELTS overall score of 7.0, or a TOEFL overall score of 110, and they must be able to demonstrate outstanding academic abilities and English language skills through personal statements, essays, letters of recommendation and other documents.
What are the advantages for students from CUHK-Shenzhen to apply for this programme?
In view of the increasingly in-depth and fruitful cooperation between our university and the University of Oxford, our students do not need to provide English scores such as TOEFL or IELTS results to apply for this programme.
