MPhil-PhD in Economics / MPhil-PhD in Finance 2021 Fall Application is Now Open
2021 Fall Admission to the MPhil-PhD Programme in Economics and the MPhil-PhD Programme in Finance of School of Management and Economics (SME) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-SZ), is now open for application. We welcome applicants who have a keen interest in the two academic fields and plan to study further. Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome to apply for admission.

Introduction
This MPhil-PhD Programme in Economics and the MPhil-PhD Programme in Finance target highly motivated, self-directed individuals who wish to pursue a higher degree in the area of economics and finance. Students who satisfy the graduation requirements will receive degrees of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The research of the MPhil-PhD programme in Economics focuses on microeconomic theory, applied microeconomics, financial economics, macroeconomics, international economics, industrial organization, market design, econometrics, economic data science, and related domains.
The research of the MPhil-PhD programme in Finance focuses on asset pricing, corporate finance, market microstructure, behavioral finance, FinTech and related domains.
- Faculty
SME has established a strong faculty team in the area of economics and finance. Faculty members in all major areas of economics and finance have been recruited worldwide. Many of them are active researchers recognized internationally and have prior experience in supervising PhD students.

- Fees and Funding
In the academic year 2021-2022, the University and the School may offer full tuition waiver (RMB95,000 per year) and teaching/research assistantships of RMB10,000 (before-tax) per month.

- Entry Requirements
Applicants applying for admission should satisfy the following requirements:
* A Bachelor’s degree with honours or above
* Taken GRE or GMAT test
* Fulfilled the English language proficiency requirements
* Good background in mathematics or statistics
* Normally completed undergraduate courses of study in economics, statistics and calculus

* A copy of bachelor’s and/or master’s degree certificate(s)
* A copy of transcripts
* A copy of TOEFL, IELTS or GMAT score report as evidence of English language proficiency
* A copy of GRE or GMAT score report
