Welcome to School of Management and Economics!

As China’s global economic influence continues to increase, there is an urgent need for a new generation of business leaders who have both a deep understanding of China and Asian markets as well as a global mindset. The School of Management and Economics (SME) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) is based in the innovative city of Shenzhen with a mission to continue nurturing the new generation of business talents. SME adheres to the same rigorous teaching and academic standards as that of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). SME merges the considerate educational and research resources of Hong Kong and the outside world with those of the Chinese Mainland, ultimately providing high quality business education to genuinely exceptional students from all over the world.

We focus on nurturing a global vision in our students. We also integrate business studies with liberal arts education, fostering the learning attitude of “erudite, inquiry, deliberation, discernment, persistence” for students, encouraging them to develop a strong moral and ethical character while pursuing excellence in academic studies so as to become future business talents with global mindset and responsibility for society.

Through years of hard work, SME has continued to nurture and deliver business professionals from all walks of life to the communities, and now they have formed a major pillar of both the local and global business communities. Looking into the future, SME will follow the same rigorous academic and teaching standards for which CUHK is renowned, and continue to provide world-class business education and research with an Asian and Chinese emphasis, which will be instrumental to achieve a global impact in view of the emerging role of China in the global arena.
