Position and Expected Qualifications

The School of Humanities and Social Science at CUHK (SZ) invites nominations and applications for a senior scholar position in the area of global studies (broadly defined, including, but not limited to, international relations, international and regional studies, globalization development and trends, global governance, global sustainability, etc.).

Candidates for this senior position are expected to have prior experience in leadership position(s) in the relevant areas, and to have attained professorship rank (or equivalent) or above (e.g., distinguished professorship, chair professorship) in competitive institutions. The successful candidate for this position is expected to serve as the leader in establishing and developing a center/program of excellence in the area of global studies (broadly defined, and name tentative).  

Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, leading to longer-term appointment or tenure later, subject to successful performance evaluation and mutual agreement. In cases where a candidate has an established record of excellence and demonstrable potential for continued success, tenure may be offered to the candidate at the time of initial appointment.

The School of Humanities and Social Science at CUHK(SZ) invites applications in Physical Education or Sports Science at the rank of senior lecturer. Applicants with very competitive academic records may be considered for position of assistant professor. Positions and Qualifications

All candidates should have (i) a PhD degree (by the time of reporting duty) in a relevant area of psychology; and (ii) evidence of high potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship.

Candidates for associate and full professor positions are expected to have solid evidence of excellence in teaching/research/service, and a strong track record of sustained high-quality research/scholarship outcomes in the expertise area(s), as evidenced by research publications in competitive international outlets (e.g., SSCI- or SCI-indexed journals) in the relevant areas of psychology. In addition, candidates need to demonstrate academic leadership and strong commitment to the highest standard of excellence. Applicants are advised to provide quality indicators for the journals where they have research publications (e.g., journal impact factor, journal ranking in a relevant category, as available in the Journal Citations Reports of the Web of Science).

The School of Humanities and Social Science at CUHK(SZ) invites applications for faculty positions in translation and interpreting studies and/or simultaneous Interpreting at the Senior Lecturer/Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer levels.

Applicants should have (i) a Master's degree or above in T&I studies; (ii) proven record of teaching excellence and (iii) professional experience in language service provision.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) teaching courses as prescribed in the programme curricular; (b) developing cooperative relations with language service industries; and (c) assisting in curriculum development and administrative assignments.

Applicants should have at least a Master's Degree in English Language/Applied Linguistics or a related field and at least 3 years of experience in teaching English to students at the tertiary level. Applicants with proven record of any of the following are highly encouraged to apply:

Candidates for Associate and Full Professor posts are expected to have demonstrated academic leadership and strong commitment to the highest standard of excellence. Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, leading to longer-term appointment or tenure later subject to mutual agreement.
